The once cradle of the city, “Notre-Dame de l’Annonciade” dominates Menton from its 230 metres above sea level.
It is dedicated to Notre Dame of the Annonciation, invoked by sailors and persons in mortal danger.
Built on the site of a small fortified town when Menton first came into being, it has been home to the Annonciades, nuns of the order of the Virgin Mary, since 2000.
The true birthplace of Menton, it is now a haven of peace and contemplation. Occasional guided tours on Thursdays (depending on the date).
Meet on the Esplanade du Monastère
