Roquebrune, Gorbio and Sainte-Agnès: old stones that recount the history of the Menton countryside
From its coastline to its hillside villages, history has left its mark on the Menton area.
The walls, churches and remains all bear witness to a turbulent history.
Roquebrune village invites you
to discover its fortified château, built in the 10th century. The
circular road offers a wonderful panorama.
As for Gorbio, this
little village with its multitude of churches will plunge you into
the magic of bygone days with its narrow cobbled streets and
archways.
Sainte-Agnès, the highest coastal village in Europe,
is also classed as one of the most beautiful villages in France.
Oleiculture and citrus fruit growing are the main sources of income in this part of the south.
