Located on the site of Menton’s mediaeval château, which no longer exists, the cemetery stands at the top of a hill.
The graves of Menton families lie alongside those of rich foreign aristocrats from the Belle Époque.
William Webb Ellis bought the land for his grave in the Vieux Chateau Cemetery on the coast overlooking the town
